There might be some confusing news coming out of Standards Australia today and in the next week.

First and foremost, while the announcements will be “AMENDMENT!” to every part in the series, please be assured that for 6 of the 7 parts of AS2885, it is just a title change to the series.

We have changed the title of the series from “Pipelines – gas and liquid petroleum” to be

Pipeline Systems – High Pressure.

So for all Parts, that has changed. But the content has not*.

There’s no need to replace your existing copies of Parts 0, 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6.

*But just to complicate things, in this “amendment round”, there *IS* a Revised Text Amendment to our Part 3 (Operations and Maintenance).

Notably, the changes in Part 3 covers clarifications only: there is no change to requirements in Part 3. By the nature of Revised Texts Amendments, the changes are somewhat cosmetic and clarifying rather than material. The Amendment document identifes the changes.
